Berlin: A New Beginning, Change, Realization
These are just a few of the core themes of the songs by mental reservation on their new album "Berlin". To give a unique touch to the new work of the South-Hessian Indie-Rock-band, and to capture the concentrated power of the songs, the four men have decided to take a whole new path and come out of their comfort zone.
They travelled to Berlin to take part in an intensive and exceptional collaboration with producer Steven Turek. With total focus on the new album it was necessary to contain overflowing creativity, to isolate the essence of the songs, and to add only the bare necessities without losing their vigour.
The result exceeds all expectations – "an album of singles".
Songwriting, sound and production clearly reflect the fact that something unexpected happened with this band, something impressive…
Each of the nine tracks is undoubtedly something very special, no unnecessary idle moments, no fillers, but an energetic album, which drives in hard with the first track, bursting with energy, sustains that momentum whilst keeping a pleasant high feeling from song to song. This trip to Berlin concludes with a soulful ballad which is sure to have you wanting to restart the journey with the band from the first song, again and again.

Mental Reservation have managed yet again to explore new aspects of the so-called „Acoustic Alternative Rock“ genre with this second CD. The EP „What did you expect” had a raw and natural touch, but with their new album they have managed to create an enhanced atmosphere using further instruments such as the cello and oboe for a more complete sound.
The listener can enjoy a varied selection of songs from rock with “In trance” and Indie with “Make me blind” to ballads such as “Another last chapter” or the melancholic “Under the willow tree” as well as pop songs like “Release me now” and “Sceptic”.
The CD is also eye-catching thanks to the British artist Jennifer Cussons who created a full-sized landscape painting with her interpretation of the title which has been used for the CD cover as well as her portrait sketches for the booklet.
Mental Reservation’s mixture of melancholic style and acoustic sound has become their musical signature. If you’re looking for calm melodies with a touch of suspense and atmospheric tension, Yesterday’s Snow is the perfect combination.

What Did You Expect?
This EP reflects the earlier sound of the band: authentic, raw and melancholic.
It includes the audience’s favourite “Did you see the morning” and the classic Brit-pop “Perfect world”, which has also been airplayed numerous times. “As people go by” is one of the very first songs to be written by the band and remains timeless.
This CD definitely belongs on the shelf of all acoustic music collections…
